Early morning the same representative will meet you at the hotel and assist you with a transfer to the domestic airport to board a flight at 0650 hrs to Raipur. On arrival at the airport in Raipur our driver will be waiting at the arrival hall with your name card. Transfer to Kanha National Park, 200 km takes around 04 hours of drive. On arrival, the lodge team will welcome you and give a brief personalized orientation about the lodge and the national park. Post the basic orientation session, hot lunch is served, after which you proceed for your first afternoon safari experience in Kanha National Park.

On this afternoon safari you explore the beautiful meadows of Kanha National Park filled with herds of grazing deer. Kanha National Park’s wet deciduous forest prevents it from being completely dry. In this area, where summer temperatures can reach 40 to 45 degrees Celsius, tall Sal trees with a thick canopy on top provide much needed shelter for wildlife. Approximately thirty years ago, the park was densely populated. After the villages were removed from the park’s central section, lovely wide grasslands arose. By reintroducing the last nearly extinct population of Hard Ground Barasingha from about 70 individuals to more than 700 in the current population, the Park management team has made conservation history for wildlife. The safari ends by sunset. Once you’re back from the afternoon safari, the lodge team will be waiting for you with cold towels and some refreshing drinks. Once you’ve freshened up, head out for dinner where you get the opportunity to interact with the naturalists who narrate first hand jungle experiences! Overnight at the lodge in Kanha National Park.

  • DAY 3: IN KANHA NATIONAL PARK

Start your day early with freshly brewed coffee/tea and some cookies, before heading out for the morning safari at dawn. We suggest you leave the lodge early, because when your vehicle is the first one parked at the entry gate, it gives you better chances of tracking the fresh pug marks along the tiger trails.

If you do not see much activity in the jungle, the guide makes a small halt to closely listen to the sound of the jungle. He carefully listens for any alarm calls or monkey chatter, that could hint tiger movement in the area. Your naturalist will also help you identify and differentiate between various alarm calls.

Breakfast is served within the national park on the car bonnet. It is displayed by the naturalist accompanying you. A quick refreshment will rejuvenate you especially in summer months. A typical breakfast spread comprises of sandwiches, boiled eggs, tea, coffee, press juice, fruit, cupcakes, cookies and toast. However, if you wish to carry something specific, please let the naturalist know an evening in advance so he can apprise the chef about the same.

Once you’re back from the morning game drive, the team back at the lodge will be waiting for you with refreshing drinks and damp cold towels. After freshening up, head for lunch.

Post lunch get ready for an afternoon safari. Once you enter the park, look for the signs and tracks and visit the waterholes, as with the heat of the day the animals will be the area where the access to the water is easy. Come back from the safari by sunset. Evening gather around and cherish the moments inside the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Kanha.
