After breakfast, proceed to the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, which was founded in 1829 and is the oldest golf club outside of Great Britain as well as the oldest in India. In 1910, the club relocated from its original location close to the Calcutta airport to the Maidan and then to Tollygunge. The entire left flank of this hole is perilously hugged by the out-of-bounds border wall. Despite being modest by today's standards, Royal's greens are challenging because to their undulations, and there is a slight nap. Although the course appears to be fairly easy from the tee, its strength is in its par fours, and using solid long and middle irons is necessary to score. The two massive tanks across the tenth fairway, the 457-yard par-4 jinx hole, are the most important. The tiger line must travel 230 yards from the tee, which is over the first tank. A long second shot over the second tank, which is at least 100 yards wide, is left by the after path to the right, leading to a small, undulating green that is viciously trapped all around.
