The
travelers will be greeted upon arrival in Sri Lanka and taken from the airport
to Kandy. An incredible cultural presentation that provides a window into Sri
Lankan culture and heritage will be presented to the tourists in the evening.
One
of Sri Lanka's largest cities is Kandy. Because of the city's numerous historic
temples, it has been designated a World Heritage Site. In addition, it serves
as the final capital of the kingdoms that Sri Lankan kings have controlled.
Actually situated on a plateau, Kandy is encircled by gorgeous mountains that
are home to Sri Lanka's well-known tea plantations and biodiversity-rich
jungles. The mythology, customs, and folklore of Kandy are well-known, and
visitors can experience them up close. The last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama
Rajasinghe, constructed the well-known Kandy Lake in 1978, and visitors would
love a leisurely drive around it. After that, the tourists went to the
marketplaces, the arts and crafts centers, and Kandy town. Tourists would visit
the gem museum and a lapidary (a person who cuts, polishes, engraves, or deals
in stones) because Sri Lanka is known for its gems. After that, the tourists
would visit Kandy's Tooth Relic temple, which is part of the Royal Palace
Complex. The relic of the Buddha's tooth is kept in this Buddhist temple, which
is how it received its name. Because it is widely believed that whoever
possesses the relic will be able to rule the nation, the relic is also
significant in the local political community.
The
visitors would continue on to Nuwara Eliya. The tourists would stop at a tea
factory and the Anjaneyar temple along the way. The 18-foot statue of Anjaneyar
at the well-known Anjaneyar temple is located in Pussellawa. The temple's
location on a mountaintop with a view of the Kotmale reservoir area makes for
lovely views. At this well-known temple, thousands of devotees from India and
Sri Lanka go to honor Lord Anjaneyar.
After
that, the tourists would go to Gayathripeedam, the first temple constructed by
Gayathri Amman in Sri Lanka. In the Ramayana, Gayathripeedam is very important.
Meghanath, the son of the demon king Ravana, is said to have appeased Lord
Shiva, thereby making amends and offering prayers. As a result of his ability
to appease Lord Shiva, he was bestowed with a number of magical abilities. The
sacred Shiva Lingam at the temple complex is thought to have been transported
from the sacred Narmada River in India. The visitors would spend the night in
the Nuwara Eliya hotel.
The
tourists would depart from Nuwara Eliya after breakfast. Tourists will start by
going to the holy Sita Aman Temple. The Sita Aman Temple is situated halfway
between the Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Nuwara Eliya Badulla Road. Your imagination
will be captured by its magnificent architecture. Legend has it that the
downhill stream provided for Goddess Sita's daily needs while she was
imprisoned at the Ashok Vatika. Three idols, one of which belonged to Goddess
Sita, were found in the river around 100 years ago. Consequently, a temple
honoring Lord Rama, Lord Laxman, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman was built on
the banks of the creek. The temple has had numerous renovations throughout the
years, and it is now a contemporary building with numerous murals, statues, and
paintings that tell the Ramayana. A view of the Hakgala mountains may be seen
from the front of the temple while the stream runs toward the back.
Following
their stay at the temple, visitors would continue on to the famous Hakgala
Botanical Gardens, which were also significant to the Ramayana. It is thought
that Goddess Sita was kidnapped by the Demon King Ravana and held captive in
these gardens. He forced her to wed him, but Goddess Sita resisted his demands.
Lord Hanuman paid her a visit while she was imprisoned on these grounds,
bearing a ring and a message from Lord Rama. In order to transport Goddess Sita
to Lord Rama, he requested that she sit on his back. However, she declined,
stating that this would be a disrespect to Lord Rama's courage and valor. There
are still some historical features in the garden. During British
administration, the gardens experienced significant growth and are now home to
distinctive and exquisite flora.
After
that, visitors would travel to Welimada to see the well-known Divurumpola
temple. "Place of oath" is what Divurmpola implies. Here, Goddess
Sita was put through the "Agni Pariksha," or fire test, to
demonstrate her chastity and devotion. She proved to be as clean and devout as
she was with Lord Rama, and he came out of the fire unharmed. This temple is
well-known among followers nowadays and is very important to Sri Lankan
culture. In actuality, an oath signed at this temple is widely utilized to
resolve minor conflicts between parties and is recognized by the nation's legal
system.
The tourists would then continue on to Bandarawela. The tourists will travel to Ella, a tiny mountain close to Banderawela, in the afternoon. It is well-known for three Ramayana-related locations. The Ravana Ella Cave: Where Ravana concealed Sita. It is located inside the enormous Ella Rock.Ravana Ella Falls: These falls have breathtaking views and are genuinely magnificent. It is thought that Goddess Sita once bathed in the Ravana Ella Pool.Constructed during the colonial era, the Bandarawela Hotel is a huge, incredibly charming history hotel. The storied history of this exquisite hotel began as the only tea planters club in Europe. Despite being close to the city, it is isolated from it by its large garden and lush vegetation. Enjoy your stay here for the night.
After
enjoying breakfast at the hotel, visitors will travel via Ratnapura, Sitawaka,
and Avissawella to the capital city of Colombo. The well-known Sri Lankan city
of Ratnapura is well-known for its jewels. "City of Gems" is what its
name signifies. Gem prospecting and mining are important activities in
Ratnapura. The visitors will be shown a museum and a gem mine, and if they so
like, they can purchase some stunning stones from any of the many
stores.Another well-known city, Sitawaka, is located on the banks of a
tributary of the Kelani Ganga River, close to Avissawella. The Goddess Sita,
who was abducted by Ravana and held close to a forest here, is the source of
its name.
Colombo is a metropolitan metropolis and the capital of Sri Lanka. The city's current appearance is attributed to the numerous skyscrapers that now characterize the skyline. However, Sri Lanka's old-world charm is still evident in several areas. For instance, some colonial buildings from the British era still stand, as does a century-old clock tower. If tourists are interested in crockery, they should not miss the renowned Noritake Ceramic Showroom, as well as the Model shopping mall and House of Fashion. You can visit a number of Hindu and Buddhist temples in Colombo, as well as residential complexes that house the magnificent residences of Sri Lanka's ruling class and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).Stay in Colombo for the night.
Following
their hotel breakfast, the travelers would travel to Kelaniya to see the
third-century temple known as the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya. When Buddha
traveled to Sri Lanka, he stopped by this location. The renowned traditional
Sinhala pottery is made there. After that, visitors will go to the well-known
Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya Temple, which has a unique shrine to Vibhishana,
the younger brother of the evil king Ravana, who sided with Lord Rama in his fight
to save Sita.Move to Chilsaw from Kelaniya.
Tourists
would visit Munesshwaram upon their arrival in Chilsaw, which is significant
since Lord Shiva blessed Lord Ram there and gave him instructions to erect four
lingams.
The
tourists would next travel to Manavari, the first location where, following the
conclusion of his conflict with Ravana, Lord Ram erected Shiva lingams and
offered prayers.Following their transfer from Chilaw, the tourists will spend
the night in Negombo or Seeduwa.
After
breakfast, head to the airport to ensure you leave in time for your trip.
